This is probably my favorite page in the cave for two reasons:

1) There is a punch-line. We NEVER have punch-lines, but for some reason Rask and I were feeling particularly funny around this time (Spoiler: There will be ANOTHER punch-line next week!! Whee!).

2)I was able to get the color of the magical capsules juuuust right! That took effort!, and probably thirty minutes of attempting color after color to find it.

You will also notice that this is the first page with the new "official" font of the comic. At least until I find a better one...or we just come up with one on our own. I do think it is at least more readable than what we've been using.

In any case, you can all be happy that Zeta didn't take Josh's bossiness lying down. He's sneaky like that.

Meanwhile, I've been busy figuring out grad school stuff. Someone pray for my soul, because it feels extra squishy from all the researching.

This page also took forever. 10 panels. Not a good idea. Good news though: they'll be out of the cave soon. Hope all this dialogue hasn't killed you all.

Sometimes, after Sunja and I write the script, which is dialogue and any important action, things change when made into my little thumbnail sketches. I look at the dialogue and ask, how am I going to present this? Will the page still be interesting to look at without the dialogue?

Keeping a page interesting to look at is one of the larger challenges; particularly when its stuffed with dialogue ( like the last, what, 5 pages?). And Ill be perfectly honest: it's for my own benefit as much as anything else. As I've mentioned before, these pages take a LONG time to do. Hours. And with the characters stuck in this limited, ultimately bland space for so many pages, I wouldve gone mad if all of the panels were boring talking heads.
